    Drop-in Sink and Countertop Installation

    1. Flip sink over on countertop to use as a template. Center it and make sure it is straight (figure A).

    2. Trace around the sink, then mark in 5/16" (figure B). Connect the marks with a straight edge. This will be the actual cut line and the sink will drop into place.

    3. Make holes in the corners with a heavy-duty right-angle drill (figure C), then make the straight cuts with a worm-drive circular saw (figure D).

    4. Screw a piece of 1x to the section to be cut out. This will prevent the piece from dropping down and causing tear out. Connect the cuts in the corners using a jigsaw (figure E).

    Shelf Construction

    1. Always order extra fill and trim pieces from your cabinet company. It comes in handy for lots of purposes.

    2. Rip fill board to desired width on a table saw (figure F).

    3. Draw a line with a speed square and cut board to length using a circular saw.

    4. Cut decorative trim piece with a miter saw (figure G).

    Hanging Chandelier

    1. Secure a shallow electrical box to ceiling. Be sure the power is off when doing electrical work.

    2. Attach ground wire directly to the box.

    3. Have one person hold the light to take the weight off the fixture.

    4. Connect wires with wire nuts and finish it off with the decorative cover plate (figure J).
