Wall Patching
1. Ball up newspaper and place it in hole (figure A). This will be the surface for the insulating foam to stick.
2. Spray a low-expanding foam into the hole (figure B).
3. When the foam has dried, cut it with a hacksaw flush to the wall (figure C).
4. Put a layer of mud or joint compound over the patched hole.
5. Once it is dry, sand it smooth.
Acoustic Foam Tiles Installation
1. To make the acoustic tiles easy to remove and not a permanent install, line the wall with Lauan, also known as door skin, to line the walls (figure D). Lauan is 1/8-inch plywood.
2. Cut to the size of the walls.
3. Because Lauan is so thin, a staple gun may be used to secure it to the walls.
4. Tap staples securely into place with a hammer (figure E).
5. Apply construction adhesive to the back of the 2-inch thick foam tiles (figure F).
6. To cut tiles to fit perfectly on places like the ceiling, use a sharp utility knife (figure G).
7. Press onto Lauan plywood panels (figure H).
