Gas Stove Installation1. Place the stove directly onto the hearth so that it is centered (figure K). 2. To exhaust the stove properly, follow the manufacturer's instructions. The manufacturer recommends that the vent pipe be angled 1/4 inch for every foot. 3. Mark the angle and cut the drywall with a jab saw. Frame out the hole and make the matching cut on the exterior for the flue. 4. Install a vent collar (figure L)--also called a wall thimble--over the hole, and a fire stop for the vent pipe.
5. Attach a cover plate over the thimble as cosmetic trim (figure M).6. On the outside, install a vent cap to carry the exhaust out and keep the heat in (figure N). 7. Finally, attach the stove to the vent and turn it on. Again, be certain to follow the instructions.
