    Tile Removal

    1. Apply a block of dry ice to the top of the linoleum; let it set up for 20 seconds (figure A).

    2. The dry ice freezes the glue and makes it pop off (figure B).

    3. Be careful when handling dry ice. It can burn your hands badly.

    4. Once the dry ice has set up, use a knife to scrap the tile off.

    5. To clear off a section of 24 tiles, it will take about 25 minutes.

    Carpet Preparation

    1. With the floor now clear, add tack strips to the sides to prepare for the carpet installation (figure C).

    2. Consult a professional carpet installer to properly install carpet. First, the carpet professional will lay down carpet pad. Then, the carpet will be stretched, cut and secured properly (figure D).
