Vinyl Flooring Installation From "DIY to the Rescue" episode DTTR-503F

The DIY to the Rescue team starts on the floor by cleaning off any bumps and debris for a smooth surface. They then roll out the vinyl and make a first cut to make it easier to handle.

Materials:

Utility knife
Tape measure
Pencil
V-notched trowel
Floor roller
Mastic
Flooring

Vinyl Flooring Installation

1. Lay out vinyl (figure A).

2. Cut the vinyl.

3. Lay in place and make any trimmings needed on the edges (figure B).

4. Roll back half the vinyl floor, lay mastic on floor with 1/8" V-notched trowel (figure C).

5. Let it tack up and roll the vinyl in place.

6. Repeat the same process for the other half.

7. Then, roll entire floor with floor roller (figure D).
