    Railing Repair

The 2x2 vertical pickets are attached only to a 1x10 facing piece that is mounted on top of the 2x deck framing. Drill pilot holes through the lower ends of the 2x2's and install 3-1/2" decking screws through the 2x2's, through the 1x10 and into the 2x10 underneath. You will not need to do this to all the rails, just the shorter runs near the deck openings.

Pressure washing can make an old deck look new again.
    Deck Pressure Washing

    1. Remove all items from the deck.

    2. Using the low pressure tip on the pressure washer, apply deck brightener over the entire deck. Let it sit a few minutes.

    3. Change pressure washer tips to a high pressure fan shaped tip.

    4. Clean from the tops of the railings down.

    Deck Sealing

Water sealer is a product that repels water and provides UV protection to make the deck last longer. The water seal is a one part mix and will be applied by using a pump up pressure sprayer (very similar to an insecticide sprayer).

Note: The sprayer used must be made for water seal, as the seal will ruin a typical insecticide sprayer. Water seal will typically dry within an hour or two.
