  • Honeymooners in Hot Water
  • From "DIY to the Rescue"
    episode DTTR-101

Two newlyweds find themselves in home repair hot water after a husband's attempts at a kitchen conversion fall through. Among one of the promises husband Chris Scott made to wife Lexi was to convert his bachelor kitchen into one suitable for a couple before she moved in--several months into the marriage, that hasn't happened. The Rescue crew hopes to save a kitchen and a young marriage.

Chris checks out one of his repairs gone awry: a leaky sink pipe.
The greatest frustrations for Lexi Scott are the number of projects "in-progress" and the number of "make do" tricks used by the couple. Among them: pencils used to level the refrigerator; a bottle of vitamins used to support the dishwasher door and keep all the dishes from sliding out; unsightly, stained kitchen countertops; leaky sink pipes; and the wooden spoon used to pry open the oven door.

The DIY to the Rescue crew is stepping in to salvage the romance and create a cozy kitchen co-existence. The crew plans to add new countertops and a tile backsplash; new appliances and cabinets; move the refrigerator; paint the kitchen and add new light fixtures.
