Back onsite during day two of Greg and Lucy Rushford’s home build, the crew feels the heat.

Keeping a steady pace, they struggle to assemble all of the pre-engineered floor trusses before the crane arrives. With a prefab kit like this one, the guys just follow the color codes. The crew carefully tacks the corners to ensure accuracy. While Brace does the heavy lifting, Tony and Warren secure the trusses on the outer wall with a ribbon board (figure A).
As day two ends, the crew leaves the site behind schedule with a half covered floor. On day three, the guys kick it into high gear to finish the sheathing - the last step before they start to fly in the wall panels (figure B). They must work fast; if they don’t finish on time, they’ll have to pay hundreds of dollars for the crane to sit and wait to install the panels.
