Eddie and Arleen OBriant just moved their family of four to North Carolina and they want to move out of a temporary apartment and fast. Theyve stick-built three houses before, but this time, the speed of prefab caught Eddies attention. They visit the Deltec factory to see firsthand how these round homes get built.

The OBriants If the couple decides to go prefab, it will be a real do-it-yourself project and Eddie needs to know that construction is not out of his league. It should be easy for a builder like Eddie to handle the factory experts pre-construct the wall panels by hand on squaring tables. Then, they label each panel according to home plans. As the couple tours the truss line, they see that its as sturdy as stick-built. They watch experts weld the steel for the ring and collar system at the metal shop. The OBriants even catch a glimpse of a prepackaged kit all ready to go. With the tour wrapped up, they might be ready to take the plunge.
