    The Hayes Family

Becoming "do-it-yourselfers" was not what Lee and Victoria Hayes had in mind when they decided to make a change for the better and build a log home on 28 acres of land in Louisa, Virginia. The couple found themselves mid-construction without a builder – leaving an unfinished house (figure A) and a set of blueprints behind.

Before the Hayeses' independent general contractor left, Lee searched to find the best log home company out there for his family. He attended trade shows, seminars and visited log homes from South Carolina to New York (figure B). His whole motto was "don't tell me, show me."

This research brought the Hayeses to Kuhns Brothers Log Homes, Inc. Their ability to show every step of the log home building process won the Hayeses over. They were shown that the first step in the process is the design (figure C). That blueprint will be essential down the road for the factory experts on the cut line and the builders who construct the kit on-site.
