    Painted Plastic Storage Tubs

    Why settle for boring storage bins? Try giving tired tubs a modern makeover: you won’t believe how good they can look.
    Materials:

    plastic storage tubs
    long lengths of ribbon
    E6000 glue
    rhinestones
    Gem Tac glue
    paint markers
    paper cutouts
    spray adhesive
    buttons
    tacky glue
    decorative trims
    scissors
    oilcloth

    1. Use any of the following techniques to decorate your plastic tubs:

    • Glue ribbon around the outside with tacky glue or E6000.

    • Use rhinestones to spell out a name and glue them to one of the ribbons with Gem Tac glue (figure A).

    • Use different colored paint markers to draw shapes and designs on the tub and lid (figure B).

    • Glue paper cutouts to the outside of the tub with spray adhesive.

    • Glue decorative trim around the upper outside edge with tacky glue.

    • Use E6000 to glue buttons to the outside of the tub and to the top of the lid (figure C).

    • Cut shapes from oilcloth and use spray adhesive on the back of each cutout to stick the shapes to the outside of the storage tub.

    • Write a name on the tub with paint markers (figure D).
