Damien Metz not only collects Star Trek memorabilia but -- as the president of a fan club -- is also committed to Star Trek reenactment. Metz's obsession with the science-fiction phenomenon can take as many as a hundred hours a week. Organizing events, writing newsletters, building props and assembling his Klingon costume keep Metz on the go. He has even invented "Trekopoly" -- a Star Trek board game -- with other enthusiasts. Metz says Star Trek reenactment groups allow members to socialize with others while engaging in harmless escapism and expressing their enthusiasm for their beloved series.
