    Covered Chinese Takeout Box
    Materials:

    Chinese takeout boxes
    scrap fabric
    HeatnBond® Ultrahold iron-on adhesive
    Aleen's® Stop Fraying®
    scissors
    pliers
    ruler
    old towel
    iron
optional: large beads or scrap ribbon

    1. Take apart the box so it lays flat (figure A). Use your fingers or a pair of pliers to remove and set aside the handle for later use. The box should deconstruct to one flat piece with seams.

    2. Measure the flat box and add a few inches on both sides. This will be the measurement for the fabric covering.

    3. With an iron, apply HeatnBond to the wrong side of the fabric, following the manufacturer’s instructions (figure B).

    4. Lay the flat box on an old towel and fuse the fabric to the box, again following the manufacturer’s instructions (figure C).

    5. Cut off the excess fabric and neatly trim the edge of the box (figure D). Use the scissors to poke holes where the handle will be reinserted (figure E).

    6. Apply Stop Fraying to the edges of the box and allow to dry (figure F). The Stop Fraying will prevent the fabric from fraying at the edges.

    6. Refold the box (figure G). Using the pliers, reinsert the handle into the holes.
