- Wen adding on to your home, add at least one 15-amp circuit for every 600 square feet of building area. Kitchens, pantries, dining rooms and bathrooms require 20-amp circuits.

- Plan on waiting at least 3 to 4 months before painting or staining new pressure-treated wood. If you can't wait, be sure to use wood marked KDAT (kiln dried after treatment).
- When building a new deck, make a complete list of lumber and materials and plan to have them delivered. That way you can spend your time building instead of making trips to the store.
