    Topics covered on today's episode:

    Replacing 20-amp breakers with 15-amps

Converting an outlet from being switch-driven to being constantly hot

Checking whether electricity is going to the plug, even if the breaker has been turned off

    Replacing a standard receptacle box

    Connecting multiple wire connections

    Putting in a boardwalk sidewalk

Cleaning untreated wood that has rain stains

Solving the problem of water standing on a patio

Depth of concrete for a patio

Choices for a protective finish on a deck

Changing the finish on a melamine bookshelf

Removing plastic covering from garage door

    Tips:

    • Give yourself a hand by wrapping a rubber band around the handles of a pair of long-nosed pliers. It will pull the handles together and keep the jaws closed on the item you need held.

    • Wen adding on to your home, add at least one 15-amp circuit for every 600 square feet of building area. Kitchens, pantries, dining rooms and bathrooms require 20-amp circuits.

    • Always wrap a wire clockwise around a terminal screw. That was the wire will be pulled tighter aws you tighten the screw.

    • Plan on waiting at least 3 to 4 months before painting or staining new pressure-treated wood. If you can't wait, be sure to use wood marked KDAT (kiln dried after treatment).

    • When building a new deck, make a complete list of lumber and materials and plan to have them delivered. That way you can spend your time building instead of making trips to the store.
