Venetian Plaster and Silver Wax Technique

The cove ceilings get a makeover using Venetian plaster and silver wax to make them stand out.

1. Begin by applying a base coat of latex eggshell paint in a similar color to the plaster.

   
   

2. Tint the plaster by mixing in latex paint.

   
   

3. Next, use large putty knives to apply the plaster (figure A).

   
   

4. Mix the metallic powder with beeswax, then use a putty knife to apply a thin layer.
