    1. Remove the old wiring and bulb.

    2. Clean any rust off the metal parts using steel wool.

    3. Using galvanized plumbing parts, assemble a post (figure I) that the light can clamp on to.

    4. Run the new wiring starting at the light, and then routing through the pipe.

    5. Create a wooden bracket to support the light fixture and pipe, and then attach to the underside of the table.

    6. Attach the pipe to the wooden bracket using screws and a flange.

    7. Finish the wiring, and then plug into an outlet.

    Chrome legs, mirrors: Free
    Spotlight, vinyl: $7
    MDF: $30
    Materials: $20

    Total: $57
