    8. Glue and screw subsequent layers to the first layer, and then use a router with a flush cutting bit to smooth out the rough cuts (figure F).

    9. Add various veneers to the core section of the top.

    10. Add two layers of mirrored plastic to the edges of the MDF core first.

Note: Mirrored edging is stepped to give an "art-deco" appearance, by making each strip 1/2 inch narrower than the one before.

    11. Use fast drying epoxy as adhesive and painter's tape as a clamp to attach the plastic to the edges.

    12. Use construction adhesive or other high strength glue that will work on vinyl, and then spread the glue evenly using a tiling trowel (figure G).

    13. Apply the vinyl (figure H), and then carefully smooth out any air pockets.

    14. Clamp firmly between the layers of the sheet goods.

    15. Allow it to dry for 24 to 48 hours.

    16. Once it's dry, remove the clamps.

    17. Trim the edges flush using a router and a flush trim bit.

    18. Add a final layer of mirrored plastic to the edging.

    19. Clean up any glue that has squeezed out.

    20. Polish the mirrored edging to a dull haze using steel wool.

21 Clean and polish the vinyl using steel wool and furniture conditioner.

    22. Determine the placement of the legs, and then screw the legs into the bottom of the table.
