    Project 1: Installing Metal Crown Molding

    For the first kitchen project, Chris and Jim prepare and install on the tin crown molding that will complete the tin ceiling Jim and his son had previously installed.

    Safety Alert: Tin ceilings and trim are very sharp so be sure to wear protective gloves while handling it.

    The area around the top of the wall is broken up with window and door trim. Chris and Jim will install backer board to give them an even surface for the crown (figure A) . The tin crown was purchased in advance, but it has to be prepared and painted before it can be installed.
