  • Concrete...It's not just for cinderblocks anymore.
    From "Rock Solid"

Concrete has always been known for its strength and durability, but designers and high-end builders are now embracing it for its versatility.

This vanity is made from poured concrete with bits of colored glass embedded in it.

Once the concrete has hardened and is removed from the mold, the surface is polished to a smooth, matte finish.

Concrete can be colored, formed and designed for a myriad of effects. In this Rock Solid project, real-life stone masons Derek Stearns and Dean Marsico--along with guest expert Dan Gobillot of Stone Soup Concrete®--create a curving concrete vanity-top with exposed glass. The result is an artistic and elegant concrete that is a far cry from the stuff of sidewalks, pylons and footings.
