Habitat's headquarters, in Americus, Georgia, is the site
of the Habitat for Humanity Global Village, a six-acre
educational center. Visitors can view re-created models
of homes in impoverished communities around the globe
as well as examples of the houses Habitat builds worldwide.
The "Experience" area features participatory activities
for visitors to learn how Habitat builds simple, decent
houses. Guests learn about and may be invited to help
in brick making, roof-tile casting, stove construction
and wood milling. The house sponsorship cost for this
Botswana dwelling is $3,500.
