    Trellis Construction

    1. In this case, the team uses a decorative redwood lattice for the trellis (figure A). Also, the posts are made of redwood stock.

    2. At the table saw, rip the post stock to width. Use a nail gun to build the post box (figure B).

    3. Once the posts are made, mount them on the wall using galvanized pipe. Position the flange, seal with caulking and secure with screws (figure C).

    4. Using the circular saw, cut the galvanized pipe to length (figure D).

    5. Screw the pipe into the flange. Then set on the post box (figure E).

    6. With all the parts dry fit; decide where to put the post cap.

    7. Cut the post boxes using the miter saw.

    8. Once the lattice is clamped in place, use a screw gun to secure in place.
