    7. Next, assemble the panels from the base (figure G).

    8. To secure the frames, use prime coated screws. They are specifically made for outdoor applications (figure H).

    9. Next, paint the railings a natural looking forest green color (figure I).

    10. To attach the new panels, secure them with bolts through the pre-drilled holes in the rails (figure J).

    11. Once the panels are installed, start on the cap rails also made of redwood. They are made with brackets and strips of 2x4s (figure K). They are secured in place to the posts with lag bolts.

    12. Typically, an inspector will use a four inch children's ball to see if the gap in the rails are to code (figure L).
