Decorative Touches and Hardscapes: Lynn's Patio From "Home IQ" episode DHIQ-122

With the driveway and walkway completed by Brad Oberg (homeowner), the deck done and the back patio and front porch ready to enjoy, there's one extra special touch before the hardscapes of the Oberg home is complete -- Lynn's patio (figure A)!

This special patio is located off Lynn's master sitting room on the side of the house, which means windows and doors had to be added (figure B) to the original plan for access. The deck was built with the same materials that were used for back deck. Lynn will be able to enjoy the view of the wooded ravine that inspired the Oberg's to purchase the property.

One Final Survey

An important -- and required -- step before the exterior of the home is complete is to have one final survey of the house. This "final" survey locates the driveway, walkway and other hardscapes covered in this episode.

This is a requirement from the township before the Oberg's can receive final occupancy in order to move into their new home.

Fortunately, everything is where it's supposed to be and in the next episode the Oberg family moves into their dream home!
