    Wall Crack Repair

    Materials:

    latex caulk
    damp rag
    matching paint

    1. Run a bead of caulk along the top of the crack (figure A).

    2. Run a fingertip down the bead, pushing the caulk deep into the crack (figure B).

    3. Smooth the surface finish with a damp cloth (figure C).

    4. Once the crack is filled and the caulk is dry, paint the patch to match the wall color (figure D).

    Outlet Replacement

    Materials:

    screwdriver or cordless drill
    new outlet
    cutting pliers

    1. Cut the power off at the electrical panel (figure E).

    2. Clip the wires from the old outlet with cutting pliers. This will expose new wiring to connect to the new outlet (figure F).

    3. Install the new outlet following the manufacturer’s instructions and replace the switchplate (figure G) (figure H).

    4. Turn the power back on and check that the outlet is working correctly (figure I).
