Linoleum is colorful, easy to maintain and environmentally friendly.

    Materials:

    prybar
    tape measure
    pencil
    level
    clamps
    safety glasses
    ear protection
    circular saw
    pull saw
    chalk line
    screw gun
    safety glasses
    table saw
    jigsaw
    hammer
    tapping block

    Steps:

    1. Place a tile at the edge of the doorway and make a reference line. Measure the distance out from the wall. Mark out the same distance at the other end of the wall, and snap a chalk line.

    2. Pry off shoe molding and unscrew transition strip. The door jamb will need to be cut down so the flooring will fit under it. Use a jamb saw with a piece of the flooring as your guide.

    3. The first panel should line up in the doorway. Measure and mark the piece for the portion that needs to be cut out.

    4. Use a table saw for straight cuts and a jigsaw for notched cuts.

    5. Snap the first two pieces together, and slide them into place so they fit snugly in the doorway. Continue to click together the rest of the flooring. Use a hammer and tapping block to make the seams disappear.
