Mixing the Thin Finish and Texture Pave- For the stamping layer, you will apply a thin bonding layer of the Thin Finish®, and a thicker layer of Texture Pave® (figure M). To mix the Thin Finish, follow the same instructions and water ratio used to mix it for the skim coat.
- The texture pave is mixed similarly, but will be thicker to create a stamping layer you should mix 4 quarts of water per 55 lb. bag. This mix should also be thoroughly mixed first, allowed to set for five minutes, and then mixed again (figure N). You will be mixing multiple bags so make sure that the four quarts is exact.
Wet the concrete substrate thoroughly (figure O). Leaving dry spots will create puddles when you stamp. Squeegee off excess water (figure P), then begin applying the thin-finish and texture-pave.
Adding the Thin Finish and Texture Pave- Use your squeegee to remove excess water, before adding the thin finish. Then squeegee on a layer of Thin Finish. Work in small sections, and then apply the Texture Pave.
- Set the gauge rake to 1/4 of an inch. Pour out the Texture Pave and spread one bucket at a time. Use the gauge rake to spread and always keep your handle at the same height so the product spreads at the same thickness. The last step is to smooth out the lines by floating a squeegee across the surface (figure Q). As you work, don' t forget to paint the sides. Then allow the texture pave to set up before stamping.
