Our homeowners had previously installed a path using rock (figure A). To rehab the overgrown garden path and replace the loose gravel and pavers, Pat now wants to create a brick walkway that emulatse the herringbone pattern that is used in the existing patio as well as on brick walkways throughout the historic neighborhood (figure B). To that end, Pat has already located and purchased some 100-year-old bricks that were leftover from the demolition of an old building.
