| Crackled Paint Doors |
| The dressing room doors get a look of the Roaring 20s! |
From "DIY to the Rescue" episode DTTR-709 |

|
The DIY to the Rescue team, Karl Champley, Amy Devers, and a few of the Tampa Theatres volunteers give the dressing rooms doors a new look by using a crackle paint effect.
Materials:sander/sand paper bottom coat of paint (we used metallic gold) crackle medium top coat of paint (we used red) brushes/roller
Steps:1. Start by lightly sanding off any old paint on the door (Figure A). 2. Then apply a base coat of paint (Figure B). Let dry.
3. Apply the crackle medium over the basecoat (Figure C). Apply in multiple directions to achieve random cracking (Figure D).
4. Next apply the top coat of paint (Figure E). Apply in generously in one stroke, because going back over the top coat reduces the crackle effect.5. The medium will cause the top coat of paint to shrink, allowing the bottom coat to be seen (Figure F).
