Because of the limited cabinet space and counter space, Golden decides to add modern advances to this country kitchen by installing a center island and a pot rack. Because the center island is so narrow, she creates a country-look pot rack from a wooden ladder. - Install eye-hooks into the tin ceiling (figure A), making sure to drill the eye-hooks into a ceiling joist for support.
- Attach s-hooks to the chain (figure B) and attach them to the rungs of the ladder. It's important to make sure the hooks and chains can support the weight of everything that will be placed on the pot rack.
Golden has managed to maintain the old-fashioned charm while bringing in modern accents by adding other simple accessories: - Tin canisters (figure C)
- A tablecloth to match the cabinet curtains (figure D)
- Rose-colored accessories (figure E).
