    You can replace the wood panels in your cabinet doors by routing around the edges and installing another material, such as glass.

    If the glass breaks in one door, consider taking the other piece of glass out and using it as a template to cut two pieces of hardware cloth to size (figure A). There's no need to mark each wire of the hardware cloth individually. Just make a reference cut at the bottom of the hardware cloth to indicate which vertical row you'll follow.

    Spray a coat of paint onto the hardware cloth, and staple it in place on the door (figure B). Afterward you can install quarter-round trim around the edges.
