Installation is a fairly straightforward process. Carie and Ron carefully load the windows into the company van and drive them to their boss' house. Inside the house, it's important to make sure that the existing window is perfectly clean of dust, or fingerprints. Using glass cleaner and lint-free paper towels, Carie gives the windows a thorough cleaning.Carie and Ron apply a strip of industrial strength double-sided adhesive around the edges of the existing window (figure D). This adhesive will hold the window in place until they can caulk it in place. Now they bring in the sidelight and place it inside the existing window frame--it fits perfectly (figure E). With the window placed, Carie can caulk around it to seal it in (figure F).
The same process works for the installation of the large arch window, but this time Carie and Ron have two extra considerations to keep in mind. Because of the large size, they must be absolutely certain when they are moving the window not to bend it (figure G). They also have to deal with the added peril of working high on a ladder for this installation (figure H).
Once Carie and Ron have taped and caulked the large window, they can come down of the ladder and bask in the light of their good work, and their boss' approval.
