    Red Team Activity Journal (1 p.m. - 3 p.m.)

    • The team screws metal L-brackets to the side of the right cabinet and begins painting the kid's tabletop with chalkboard spray paint.

    • While molding is added to the front corners of the cabinets, three-inch foam is cut for the tops of the sun and moon seats (figure A). Next, the seats are covered with upholstery and stapled tight.

    • The Red team paints the cabinet door and adds star designs to the tops of the upholstered cushions (figure B).

    • Once the multi-colored table legs are attached to the kid's tabletop, they screw the small desk to the right side of the larger one using more metal brackets.

    Blue Team Activity Journal (1 p.m. - 3 p.m.)

    • Plywood is used for the kickboard and attached underneath both cabinets.

    • While the team finishes staining the top of their desk, 1 x 2s are measured, cut, and attached vertically to the front edges of shelf and shorter pieces horizontally along front edges of shelves (figure C).

    • Once holes have been cut into the backs of the shelves for the wiring, accent lighting is screwed under each shelf.

    • New holes are drilled into the front of drawers of the right cabinet and custom handles attached (figure D).
