    Red Team Activity Journal (11 a.m. - 1 p.m.)

    • The card-shaped table legs are painted white and more plywood is selected and cut with a table saw for the dice chairs.

    • The dice chairs continue to come together by cutting 2 x 4s to 15 inches for the chair frames. The pieces are nailed and then reinforced with Simpson strong ties.

    • A wipe-on poly is used to stain the tabletop (figure A), while a plywood circle is cut with the jigsaw for the lazy Susan.

    • Hearts, clubs, diamonds and spades are drawn onto the table legs and green felt is attached to the card-playing surface (figure B).

    Blue Team Activity Journal (11 a.m. - 1 p.m.)

    • To give the pre-made cabinets a more finished look, eight pieces of paneling are ripped (figure C) and attached to the sides with laminate glue. (The glue allows the team to avoid nail marks.)

    • The glue is rolled onto both surfaces (figure D) and then pressed together. A stick is inserted between the two surfaces to prevent the adhesive from making significant contact before the paneling is set in the proper place.

    • Poly stain is added to the side paneling and then a tabletop underside is cut from 3/4-inch birch plywood.

    • Next, the checkerboard tile is laid out and attached with adhesive (figure E).
