    Red Team Activity Journal (3 p.m. - 5 p.m.)

    • The team applies 3-inch decorative green tiles around the edges (figure A) of the mailbox structure.

    • A flower box is constructed from 1" plywood and all pieces are nailed together with a nail gun (figure B).

    • Next, the team constructs a frame for the mailbox top and base.

    • The mailbox is attached to the top and secured in place with screws.

    • A bracket is placed on the bottom of the back post and attached to the platform. A light fixture is secured to the back posts and lights are added inside the glass encasement.

    • Clear polyurethane stain is added to the flower box before it is placed in the opening atop the structure.

    • Finally, the team adds molding to top of flower box, then adds flowers.

    • The Blue Team nails vertical copper and metal strips along the seams of sheets that cover the base.

    • The "lazy Susan" is secured to the top, then a hole is drilled into the rotating base (figure C) to allow the piece to slide over the rod.

    • Copper pipe is added over the threaded rod, and mailboxes are added.

    • The remaining house (figure D) and castle pieces are added, the the mailbox is topped by the ferociously fiery blue dragon.
