Red Team Activity Journal (1 p.m. - 3 p.m.) - The Red Team slides the framed glass blocks into the tracks and clamps to secure (figure A). The frame is nailed to the posts with a nail gun.
- A tomahawk is drawn onto a piece of acrylic safety glazing, then cut with a scroll saw and painted red.
- The team wraps copper sheet metal around the back post pieces (figure B) and secures with copper nails.
- Copper L-brackets and copper nails are used to attach the two pieces of the back post.
- The team cuts plywood to 25" x 25" and attaches to the top of the mailbox structure, before cutting a 14-1/2" x 10-1/2" square on one side of the plywood top.
- The bottom of the platform is painted green to blend with grass.
Blue Team Activity Journal (1 p.m. - 3 p.m.) - The Blue Team cuts slots into the PVS pipe for the dragon's wings to slide into.
- Metal and copper sheets are nailed around the mailbox support base in an alternating pattern (figure C).
- Table legs are used for castle turrets, then the flame is painted red. The dragon is painted blue (figure D) and outlined in orange, then the two castles are painted (one white and one black (for good versus evil).
