Red Team Activity Journal (11 a.m. - 1 p.m.)
- The Red Team moves on to the countertop. First, the team measures, notches and cuts the plywood to be used (figure A).
- Then, the team measures and cuts a hole that will house the sink (figure B ) before attaching the plywood countertop base to the frame.
Blue Team Activity Journal (11 a.m. - 1 p.m.)
- Meanwhile, the Blue Team is busy creating framing for the sink and cook top.
- First, the team uses wood screws to connect the box frames (figure C) -- both cabinets and base.
- Then, the "Tools from A Broad" team members measure and cut the fence posts (figure D) to be used as decorative legs.
- The posts are attached to the island frame to raise the island to the appropriate height.
