    • Then, the team attaches the panels by sliding the pipe through the grommet holes. ).

    • Next, the team uses nails to attach a 4x8 panel of vinyl lattice to the front of the arbor.

    • Fabric panels are added over the lattice (figure B), and tile stepping stones are added through the arbor's widest area to complete the project.

    Blue Team Activity Journal (3 p.m. - 5 p.m.)

    • The team begins finishing the project by spraying the smaller piece with black paint.

    • Then, the Blue Team adds a notch to the large pedestal for the later addition of a "fin".

    • Next, the team measures and cuts redwood pieces using a table saw.

    • The redwood is attached to the "fin" using screws and angle brackets.

    • A hole is drilled into each length of copper pipe, and the copper pipe is attached to the fin (figure C) with brass screws.

    • The team positions the arbor upright (figure D), then measures and cuts copper sheeting to cover the pedestal.

    • The copper sheeting is wrapped around the pedestal and secured with nails.

    • The team uses a ball pein hammers to dent the copper (figure E) and add texture.

    • The fin assembly is attached to the main pedestal by screws, before the team adds the brace support to the back of the arbor.
