Red Team Activity Journal (1 p.m. - 3 p.m.) - The Red Team members cut the plywood for an adjustable wall and add piano hinges and brackets. When the wall is added to the inside of the house, it will lift up and lock in place to create an optional partition (figure A).
- Next they put the wall in place inside the structure.
- Now it's time for the ceiling to be added. The team members cut the plywood for the ceiling -- and they include a hole for the ventilation system (figure B), which will feature a screened box that contains cedar chips for freshness.
- Finally, the team cuts and attaches the rafters for the roof.
Blue Team Activity Journal (1 p.m. - 3 p.m.) - This will be a triple-dog dwelling, so the Soakers cut holes for the trio of doors (figure C). The doors will range in size from tiny to huge to fit any breed of dog.
- Next they fasten the plywood roof in place and add metal flashing at the roofline to help prevent leaks (figure D).
- Finally, the Blue Team adds a practical and attractive asphalt-shingle roof.
