    Red Team Activity Journal (11 a.m. - 1 p.m.)

    • The Firedogs cut 2x4s to size and begin the process of framing the doghouse ( figure A).

    • The walls will be built of T1-11 plywood panels and insulated in the same way as the floor, with a layer of 1/2" insulation between the frame and the walls.

    • The Red Team assembles the walls and attach them to the floor, keeping the bottom of the walls slightly elevated so the wood won't wick up any water if the house is ever standing in water. Then they cut off any excess siding (figure B).

    Blue Team Activity Journal (11 a.m. - 1 p.m.)

    • The Soakers cut composite decking boards and fasten them on top of the floor joists. The decking material is a plastic compound that cuts and accepts nails and screws just like wood.

    • Next the Blue Team cuts 2x4s, which will be used to frame the walls, just like in a "people" house (figure C).

    • The painted Victorian facade has already been attached (figure D), so now the team adds the remaining three walls.
