The Teams: Two television production groups -- one from New York, one from Los Angeles

The Project: A boy's bunk bed

    The Timeframe: 8 hours (9 a.m. - 5 p.m.)

Before the competition gets under way, we meet the two teams of warriors that will design and build two unique, decked-out versions of a boy's bunk bed:

    Red Team (New York)

    Raul Celaya
    Rainbow Star Plant
    Greg Weinbrecht

    Blue Team (Los Angeles)

    Larsen Jay
    Dan Cunningham
    Aaron Blake

Warrior Team Trivia: Celaya of the Red Team and Larsen of the Blue Team were friends in college before moving to opposite coasts. Having recruited friends and colleagues for their teams, they've now reunited to do battle on Warehouse Warriors!

    Red Team Activity Journal (9 a.m. - 11 a.m.)

    • Once they've "nailed down" a concept for their design (a fire engine with an FDNY logo, in honor of the New York City firefighters), the Red Team begins working on the front of the truck, measuring and cutting the lengths for the framework.

    • Next, they prime and paint the plywood for the truck facade and measure and cut 2x4s (figure A) to build the frame for the bed platform.

    • Once the 2x4s are cut, the team moves on to assemble the frame (figure B).

    Blue Team Activity Journal (9 a.m. - 11 a.m.)

    • For their bunk bed, the Warriors of the Blue Team have chosen to create a video-playing utopia, complete with a reclining bed, canopy and entertainment center. After drawing out the design (figure C), they measure and cut the lumber for the upright supports, shown in figure D.

    • Like their Red competitors, the Blue Team utilizes 2x4s to build the platform frame for their bed. Once the frame is complete, they secure it to the upright supports.

    • The next step is to measure and cut plywood to complete the platform. In completing this step, the team joins two pieces of plywood with a hinge to create their "recliner" feature.
