At Joslin Sign Company, metal signs used to be created by hand. Now, a computer assists the process to make the signs more quickly and with more precision than they could have ever achieved before.

The computer drives a router that cuts letters out of sheets of metal. A water and oil mixture lubricates the bit to prevent overheating. The metal is held in place by a vacuum system during the cut.

The frame of each letter is made on a hydraulic and pneumatic metal bending machine.

Joslin Sign Company also uses a low pressure paint spraying system to paint its signs.
