The Stanley Laser Plumb Bob is a modern twist on an ancient tool (figure A). It projects a laser up to 100 feet to show the proper location to place a stud. A magnet in the laser plumb bob acts much more quickly than the time-tested string-and-bob method. Magnets located on the shell of the laser plumb can be used for aligning studs and rafters as well as establishing angles in building.
A speed square (figure B) is the traditional tool used to confirm 90 degree angles in walls or to set up rafter angles. The digital angle finder (figure C) is an improvement on the traditional angle finder. It has a digital display to show you the exact degree of the angle you're working with. A hold button keeps the angle degree in the tool's memory. It also has an extender so you can carry the point farther when measuring rafters.
