When using a sod machine, review the following steps.

    1. Check the oil in the machine. The sod cutter has two oil wells; one for the motor, the other for the transmission.

    2. Set the fuel gauge to the on position, then set the choke.

    3. Flip the ignition switch to the 'On' position.

    4. Set the height adjustment on the blade. To do this, loosen the 'T' handle and slide the adjuster to the height you need. Then, tighten the handle back down.

Note: try cutting a test piece of sod to ensure you're cutting at the correct height.

    5. Pull the handle to start the sod cutter.

    6. Unlock the cutter height.

    7. Lower the blade into cutting position, then lock it back down.

    8. Engage the blade motion, then the drive wheels.

    9. Use the throttle to change speeds.
