  • From "DIY Tools & Techniques"
    episode DIT-219

First up: a ladder organizer (figure A) that fits over the top of a standard stepladder. It's a bag with pockets for all your tools, keeping them organized and handy. The pockets are attached to the bag with hook and loop tape so that you can use as few or as many as you need. It even has a hidden pocket to hide your valuables in if you're out on a jobsite. A five-gallon bucket or two one-gallon buckets fit in it as well.

Another cool item on the market today are gloves with magnets on the back (figure B). The magnets will hold metal items such as nails or bolts, providing easy access. When you are finished with the gloves, stick them to your toolbox.

The last cool tool is a flashlight (figure C) that never needs batteries. All you do is shake it for 30 seconds to get 20 minutes of use. It's made of almost unbreakable polycarbonate plastic, which makes the flashlight float.
