    1. First, prepare the cord ends by brushing the ends with a thin coat of glue. This will seal the ends. Place aside and allow them to dry.

    2. Take two cords and pin to the board.

    3. Anchor the right hand cords at A and form the loop with cords end B (figure A). Use pins to hold the shape.

    4. Form a second loop by taking cords B down through the two loops (figure B).

    5. Complete the knot pattern by weaving cords B down through the two loops as shown (figure C).

    6. Remove the pins and gently pull the knot into its final shape. This is how it will look if you use two cords (figure D)

    7. Taking a soft brush, put a little fabric stiffener onto the back of the double knot to help hold its shape. Allow knot to dry.

    8. Turn knot over and place 10mm Hot-Fix Swarosvski Crystal Rhinestones onto the knot. Using the Bejeweler Stone Styler heat tool, adhere the crystal to the knot. Add additional crystals in the same manner.

    9. Then take four beads (with large holes) and load onto the cording.

    10. Next, load two small beads on each piece of cording. Glue in place and put aside to dry. This will create a hanging fringe (figure E). Finish with a knot on the end of the cording.

    11. Slide all beads towards the bottom.

    To use the hair knot:

    • Start by brushing hair to smooth out.

    • Take the top 1/4th of your hair and pull back. Take the Double Knot and place onto your hair. Wrap the first loop around this hair near the crown of the head. Pull a bead up to hold it (figure F).

    • Take a little hair from both sides and add more to the pony tail. Then take the cording and twist it, then pull hair through. Push a bead up to hold the hair in place. Keep repeating this step for remaining hair or until you run out of beads.

Tip: This is just like lacing ballet slippers on your legs.

    • Repeat Step 13 for remaining hair. (For longer hair, add more beads and use a longer cording.)

    • To finish off. Leave enough cording on end to wrap around hair and tie with a slipknot to hold in place (figure G).
