    Storage Totes to Conquer Clutter

    Decide if you really need to keep all of that clutter. There's no doubt that a lot of it can be thrown away. After that, though, you want to makesure that everything has a home.

    • Clear totes are wonderful because you can see what's inside of them. A lot of them are designed to slide underneath the bed for storing extra shoes or sweaters.
    • Specialized containers store wrapping paper and holiday decorations.

    • Rubbermaid makes a great sports station for kids. It has a basket for balls that ties together, so you can take the balls with you if you're going to a soccer game or a basketball game.
    • Don't be afraid to invest in a really good toolbox. It will last forever and provide plenty of storage to add more tools as you need to.

    • Look for units specifically designed for storage on decks. They are waterproof, so they're good for storing charcoal, potting soil and other dry materials.
    • There are media boxes that help organize your CDs and DVDs. Look for baskets, boxes and furniture designed specifically for media storage.
