Garages, storage areas and workshops get overstuffed big time. Tools, bins, supplies you name it collect there like rain water in a gutter. But we can't have clutter in the shop. There's too much work to do, and we need access to the tools. When it comes to grabbing beach chairs, skis or mountain bikes for some R&R, we want to grab and go, too.
Store-bought shelves and bins are tempting, but we've found they reconfigure the pile into a tower or hide it under a lid. For us, the key to organizing and quickly accessing stuff is Got Stuff Shelves. Their open design compels organization because it's hard to pile things up and you can access it all lickety-split.
The Got Stuff shelves are wall-mounted, clearing acres of floor space, creating new square footage for a workbench, storing bigger items like shop tools, a lawnmower or bikes. And you can ladder Got Stuffs from floor to ceiling another awesome space creator.
We've got two versions of Got Stuff corner shelves: the V and L shapes (see Photo 1 for the V shape and Photo 15 for the L). Each employs similar construction techniques, and they're scaleable, meaning (to a certain degree) you can customize them to your space requirement. The L-shelf design can be tweaked to make an I-shelf (straight-run) that also functions sweetly as a worktable.
The Cuss-O-Meter on these units varies and largely depends if you have help or not. On a scale from 1 to 5, if you have basic carpentry skills and maybe an extra set of hands for a few of the steps, it can toggle between 1.5 and 3.0.
