    1. Measure the area where the lights will be installed, then mark the edge.

    2. Using a speed square, continue that line under the shelf (figure A). Mark a line along the length of the shelf at the bottom so all of the lights will line up.

    3. Next, drill holes for the electrical cords using a paddle bit.

    4. Attach the first light to the bottom of the shelf (figure B), then continue installing the remainder of lights.

    5. Feed the cord up through the hole made earlier, then attach the small transformer to the underside of the shelf (figure C). Connect the individual lights to the cord.

    6. Organize the wires under the shelf using wire staples (figure D).

    7. Install the switch, then the plug; the cabinet lighting is complete.

    8. Complete the project by spackling up any exposed nail holes, then painting.

    9. Add aluminum trim to the edges of the shelves (figure E) to give them a finished look.

    10. Attach the door handle to the closet door, then set the closet shelf and rod into place (figure F).

    11. Finally, install chrome cover plates to all electrical outlets.
