Cabinet Installation From "DIY to the Rescue" episode DTTR-404F

Materials:

Drill
Magnetic bit
Phillips bits
Tape measure
Safety glasses
6' stepladder
Level
Stud finder
Shims

1. First, determine desired placement of cabinets, then use a stud finder to locate wall studs.

2. Install the first base cabinet, checking for plumb and level. Use shims to adjust the plumb and level, then attach the cabinet to the wall driving 3" wall screws into the studs.

3. To secure cabinets together, clamp the stiles together and then pre-drill holes with a counter sinking drill bit. Attach the stiles with 1-1/4" wood screws. Remove the clamps.

4. Once all the cabinets are installed, attach the doors to the cabinets by using the supplied screws into the pre-drilled holes.
