    Cutting into a sink is not something that can only be done one way. Host Ed Del Grande reveals a couple of techniques that he uses in the field.

    Materials:

    Slug buster
    Wrench
    Drill set
    Hole-saw

    Using a Slug Buster:

    1. Mark the sink using a drill set and hammer.

    2. Using a standard bit, drill a pilot hole into the sink.

    3. Next, take the cutting wheel off the slug buster (figure A).

    4. Place the slug buster into the hole, then reattach the cutting wheel underneath.

    5. Hand tighten the nut on the top side of the slug buster, then use a wrench (figure B) to continue tightening until you hear a 'pop'.

    6. Remove the slug buster, then use an emory cloth to smooth the edges around the hole.

    Note: if you have a cast iron sink, you should make your cut into the countertop near the sink using a hole-saw (figure C).
